Baby boy

Baby boy has started kicking and whatever it is he does. Annika was so tricky, she'd kick and kick and kick, and the second John put his hand on my tum, she'd giggle(?) and keep still. He'd wait a few minutes, take his hand away, and AHA!, she'd start in again.
Baby boy was much more cooperative and John got to feel a good, solid kick almost first time around.
We went on a triple date on Saturday night and ate lots of yummy food and not much else. We had a reservation at a trendy billiards hall in downtown Portland, but one of the girls forgot her ID in the diaper bag at home! I'm not much of a "billiards" player, but it sounded fun. John and I are such homebodies, that it was fun to go somewhere "cool."
Annika:
Cow says moo, with lips pursed and stuck out as far as they can go. Tiger says roarrr, and is best said from Daddy's back, as they both crawl around. Cat says meow, quietly, coyly and while pointing to her chest. Two of her pajama tops have a cat on them, and we'd pointed to them enough, that she very much associates her chest with cats. Duck says something, kind of a guttural clearing of the throat, but its coming. Dog gets a blank stare, but lots of enthusiastic pointing and ooh, oohs. (real dogs, that is.) Snake goes ssssss, but only after Mom or Dad starts in.
Her nose gets a nasally, squashed nooooose, followed by a finger to her lips and a shhhh. That's because the parents on the bus say it, and a finger by the lips is practically pointing to the nose. Her cheek or eye is eye. And mouth gets aaaaah.
She'll give kisses, sometimes with binky in her mouth, sometimes with a big wide mouth and on the rare occasion, with a little pucker. She hugs and cuddles and then runs urgently to an engagement.
She does NOT like to get her hair combed or put into barrettes or bands and it is a full on wrestling match to try. This results in a very messy hair do, and really isn't worth it.
Her favorite word is shoes, which she says perfectly and now she's willing to have them put on her feet. That's not to say that they stay on her feet, but she likes shoes. Big shoes, really big shoes and even bigger shoes. Then she falls over.
She is cute. Really cute.
I, on the other hand, and eating like a pig, only with less healthful food. So, I'm looking somewhat like a pig. Only, less healthy. I've, just this week, given in to actual maternity clothes and feel liberated from tight jeans and awkward shirts. Anyone who didn't know I am pregnant, does now.
Speaking of which, I need a nap, so that's all.

Annika reminds me of Amanda for some reason. It sounds like Jr. is developing like he is supposed to be. Hope that all is going well for you.
