Because I'd rather laugh

To keep from crying anymore today, knowing that my kindergartener is safe asleep and other parents will cry themselves to sleep, I will tell silly stories about my kids.

Jacob, to John (after John tooted - don't tell him I told you all):  Your butt talked...to...my butt!

Emily sucks on the 3 fingers of her right hand while her left hand twists her hair into dredlocks.  Actual dredlocks.  I chase her all day with detangling spray and a comb so that it doesn't get too bad in any one day.  She runs and giggles, I run and spray.  She runs and giggles, I get a comb stuck in her hair.  She runs and giggles and I say goodbye to my comb.

Annika was in the primary program (at church) this Sunday.  She was so excited that right before her turn to give her speaking part, she stood up (40+ kids are sitting) and stage whispered, "I'm next!  My part is next!)

I'll go try to sleep now.  It may take a while.  Thanks be to Christ for the Plan of Salvation.  We will live again with our families.  These children aren't lost and we aren't fools for believing.

Thanks for the amusing stories. I think laughing is a good alternative to crying, though I think everyone shed some tears over the shooting. So glad that your family is safe and happy.
