Elbow grease

When I see other peoples' clean houses where you could go upstairs and grab your kid and not be corralled back downstairs before you see any incriminating mess, (which you can't do at my house) I think these people must be superwomen or pay someone else to clean their houses. Frequently these are indeed true. However, today I learned a happy, but painful lesson. John and I worked really hard cleaning our room and organizing the closet and then headed out to the garage to make a dent in the organizing out there, and we made lots of progress! But it took a really long time. And effort. And time. (Our kids helped.)

See, I blame my mediocrity on my children so often. Ie. "sorry we're eating grilled cheese for dinner again, the kids were kind of ___." "Sorry you don't have any clean socks, underwear, pants or shirts, we kind of had a crazy month." "Sorry you stepped in _____, Jacob needed a diaper change. It threw off my whole day of cleaning. Or exercising. Or doing anything besides watching clips of Psych on Hulu."

So, today, with the whole cleaning, working and results thing, I realized, sometimes I might clean. And sometimes, I will laugh my keester off at Sean and Gus and live in filth. "What?"

Friendly advice / command: Go watch Psych.

That is hilarious and true. Why can't my home clean itself? Amen to everything, including what you said about Psych. :) I am pretty sure we are kindred spirits. :)

I do! Watch Psych that is. I really do like that show. And I'm not a great cleaner myself (though I know how to clean...managing life in general is just hard though). I'm teaching myself to be okay with what I can or can not do each day. :)

Malinda, there was never any doubt about our kindred-spiritedness, we just live too far apart. Otherwise, man we'd just sit around and laugh all day. Which would be better than what I do which is just sit around all day.

I haven't watched Psych, but can we still be friends! I totally blame stuff on the kids more than I should. It's just so easy!
